Red River College congratulates the Canadian Association of Prior Learning Assessment (CAPLA) on completion of its RPL Quality Assurance Project.
This project truly supports RRC’s ongoing implementation of quality RPL systems and practices. It also supports Manitoba’s Post-Secondary Education strategy “to create a more transparent system for prior learning recognition and transfer credits.”
The new pan Canadian RPL Guiding Principles (2015), so key to quality services, will be used in the review and renewal of our RPL policies and procedures. The RPL QA Manual and the RPL QA Self Audit Checklists contain recommended best practices that we will be able to use in a variety of ways to further develop, implement and improve our RPL systems. These quality practices and principles will help us achieve our current RRC RPL Strategic Plan, specifically the Quality in RPL outcomes related to continuous improvement. As a leader in RPL training and delivery of the RPL Practitioner Certificate, these new RPL QA resources will be used in our curriculum and for course delivery related to advising, assessing and facilitating/administering RPL systems.
