Daniel

Daniel Laurin is a passionate advocate of RPL (or RAC, as it is called in his native province of Québec). After spending 12 years developing and offering RPL programs in various Colleges in Québec, Daniel decided to put his expertise in the furthering of RPL at the university level. Hi is currently pedagogical advisor at the Bureau de cooperation interuniversitaire (BCI), an expertise and consultation forum for the creation and mutualization of services destined for Québec’s 20 member universities. He is acting as RPL expert for the Direction de l’enseignement, de la recherche et de l’innovation. He has produced a series of informational and promotional videos on university RPL in Québec.

With an educational technology background, having first specialized in distance education, he has dedicated years developing an expertise in lifelong learning and RPL. He has contributed to the advancement of RAC (Recognition of Acquired Competencies) in Québec, at both college and university levels, with the development of programs, policies and novel approaches to RPL in collaboration with professional, immigration and governmental sectors.

Daniel is currently working more specifically on the development of the Service de soutien interuniversitaire en reconnaissance des acquis et des compétences (SSIRAC), a constituent of the BCI that supports universities in the consolidation, development and promotion of RPL in Québec. He has published articles in various university magazines and is responsible for the production and publishing of the Cadre general de la RAC à l’université as well as various RPL practical guides available on the Portail de la RAC à l’université.
