Your circuit stations will include the five ‘need to know’ areas of RPL:

  1. Tools: This session will focus on the myriad of essential tools used in quality RPL programs and services for adult clients, assessors and advisors.
  2. Systems: This session will include a comprehensive review of the system components needed to ensure quality RPL services, from professional development, to policies, communication strategies and organizational support.
  3. Assessment: This session will offer a walk-through of assessment practice and the evaluation tools often used in RPL - their strengths, limitations and potential applications.
  4. Advising/career counselling: From in-take to exit, advisors and career development practitioners need multiple strategies to support learners/candidates/employees through the RPL process. This session will offer an overview of effective techniques.
  5. Public policy: This unique session will look at the public policy implications of RPL in Canada and explore how practitioners can influence, expand and promote RPL, within their organization and beyond.
